Translating Architectural Geometry into Product Design

This project did not originate from traditional perfume bottle typologies, but from a cross-disciplinary exploration—translating architectural geometry and structural aesthetics into a functional, everyday object.

The bottle adopts a “semi-circular D-shaped” silhouette, offering both structural stability and a refined, modern visual identity. Rooted in Bauhaus principles, the design follows the idea that form should serve function, eliminating unnecessary decoration to achieve clarity and precision.

Key Design Innovations

The first innovation lies in its geometric abstraction. The D-shape combines flat and curved surfaces, creating a balance between rigidity and softness while maintaining a strong visual presence.

Secondly, the design introduces a layered architectural structure. The spray module is treated as a distinct upper element, visually separated from the main body, resembling structural joints in modern architecture.

Third, the product explores light and material interaction. The fully transparent body allows light to pass through and refract along curved edges, producing a crystal-like visual effect.

The partially visible internal structure further enhances a sense of precision and technological sophistication.

Inspiration

The design is informed by three key sources:

• Curved surfaces and cut planes in modern architecture
• The clarity and craftsmanship of crystal and borosilicate glass
• The modular logic of precision devices, such as camera components

Together, these references create a design language that is both rational and refined.

Function and Ergonomics

The flat base of the D-shape improves stability, preventing rolling on flat surfaces, while the curved edges ensure a comfortable grip. The spray mechanism is positioned for intuitive use, enhancing the overall user experience.

The modular structure also improves assembly efficiency and supports future product variations.

Development Process

Multiple iterations of 3D modeling and prototyping were conducted to refine proportions and structural integration. Special attention was given to material thickness, edge transitions, and spray performance.

The challenge was to maintain a minimalist exterior while integrating complex internal components, achieving a balance between aesthetics and engineering.

Outcome

The final design presents a clear and restrained visual identity, combining geometric precision with the expressive qualities of light and transparency.

More than a container, it becomes an architectural object—where structure, material, and function are seamlessly unified, strengthening the brand’s design language.
